How we work with the content
Where does the content in the app come from?
All informational content in Småbiter – food information, safety guidance and articles – is written by us, in our own words, based on public guidance from named sources such as Helsenorge, Helsedirektoratet and Mattilsynet (the Norwegian health and food safety authorities). Every claim references its source, and the app’s source library links to the original document for each topic.
Is the content up to date?
The content in the app is checked against the sources at regular intervals, but the sources may have been updated since the last check. The links always point to the current versions. In the app’s source library, you can see when we last checked each source («Last checked by Småbiter»), alongside the source’s own publication date.
If we become aware that official guidance has changed, we update the affected content in the app. Safety-related content – for example on choking hazards or allergens – is always prioritised first.
Is Småbiter approved by the health authorities?
No. Småbiter is not made by, affiliated with or endorsed by Helsedirektoratet, Helsenorge or Mattilsynet. We reference public sources, but we are an independent app.
Småbiter is a logging and reference tool, not a medical device, and provides no health advice. If you have questions about your child’s health or diet, speak to your child health clinic, GP or another qualified healthcare professional.
